You already know this, but it’s good to be reminded: reading three posts on Medium by a writing coach is not writing. Scanning photos on a favorite furniture maker’s blog is not furniture making.

There’s a fine line that slides for everyone between thinking about and doing. And don’t mistake what I’m saying: thinking about is an essential precursor to doing.

But it’s a deep swamp. Don’t ignore your writing to read another post on outlining or why you favorite author likes vampire romance. I heard it said once, and I think it’s correct: almost any writing question can be answered by writing more. And more again. And if that doesn’t work, write even more.
